BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #155 – Forgiving the Y!

Howdy friends…

A little while ago, I noticed that the Y! Gallery was doing a forgiveness campaign. Essentially what that means is that they were willing to welcome back some of the artists who had been previously banned for breaking the gallery’s terms of services.

I should point out here that several years ago, I had an unpleasant encounter with some of the moderators.  However, I  was never actually banned from the Y!, only suspended for the slight misunderstanding! The incident did end my postings for a while.

Still, that got me thinking.

Since my initial yuckiness with the Y! a few years back, I refused to post any of my artwork, but I have kept an eye on the Gallery because there are a lot of very talented artists who do post their works there. I enjoy their work. I have become friends with some of them and I keep in touch with them through the Y! I’ve also noticed that a lot of artists there have created some beautiful Class Comics fan art which they have posted over the past couple of years.

So in the interest of keeping in touch with the many great folks who use the Y! as a means to network and display their artwork, I decided it was high time to put the past behind me.

If the Y! can forgive, then I can forgive the Y!

So I have resumed keeping up my page on the Y! Gallery. I have also taken the opportunity to start up a club called “Club Class” where artists who have created fan art based on the Class Comics characters can post their work.

That doesn’t mean I’ll be posting like crazy, but in the end, I figure what’s ultimately important is to focus on the positive aspects of things. I am a fan and supporter of any artist who creates male erotic art, and let’s face it, the Y!Gallery is one of the first places such artists go to show their wares. So I may not have had the best relationship in the past with a couple of the moderators, but that’s water under the bridge now.

What matters to me is the community aspect that the Y!, whether deliberately or inadvertently, encourages. It really is a great place to meet new artists and to discover upcoming talent. Plus, posting a pic once in a while can be fun. It’s gets a good buzz going for everyone, and can lead to some great networking.

On the cover of today’s issue is my rendition of one of my fave Darkstalkers characters: Demitri Maximoff. I created him as a special thank you to all my pals on the Y! I’ve always loved Demitri and he has always seemed so sexy to me. Of course I had to draw him bustin’ out of his oh-so-tight costume. I figured you lovely people might enjoy a peek at him as well.

So, I suppose it’s better to let go of old, yucky crap than to keep holding on to it. Letting it go opens up new opportunities, and that’s ultimately what’s important to me!

Enjoy Demitri folks! More from me shortly!
