Welcome to day 3 of Character Appreciation Week, my friends. On the menu for today, the undeniably masculine Taro Demon, DEIMOS!
I feared Deimos. Back in 2004 when I created him, I dunno, there was just something about him, or more to the point, his “themes” that made the good little Catholic boy in me… uncomfortable. But besides all of that, I couldn’t deny how compelling the character was. So after I completed Deimos #0 (something that actually took a good deal of effort on my part), I decided that I could write Deimos, but that I felt more comfortable having another artist drawing him.

Enter Logan. His interpretation of the character has been a gift to me. The man is brilliant in every sense of the word, and his art is the perfect match for Deimos. It’s powerful, masculine, drenched with raw sexuality and ravenous in its appetite for more. Deimos needed Logan to survive and ultimately to bloom.
I no longer fear Deimos. Through Logan’s beautifully visceral interpretation of Deimos and his universe, I’ve become comfortable with this character who once made me question my own moral fiber. Now I adore Deimos. I embrace him. I dare say I’ve gotten a deeper sense of who he is in my writing him for Logan, and that means the world to me.

So many different artists have illustrated Deimos for Class Comics besides Logan and I, and now the amazing Soto is illustrating a short Deimos story I wrote for Rapture #4. Each artist has his or her own unique take on the Taro Demon, but certain qualities are always there. Deimos is absolutely male in masculinity’s most instinctual, and perhaps most unrefined qualities. He’s a big, hairy, headstrong Alpha-brute that oozes sex. And while he’s gruff, impatient and not especially refined, at heart he’s a guy who’s just trying to do the right thing, even if sometimes it’s a royal pain in his ass.

My own rendition Deimos is handsome but worn. He’s had a rough time. He rarely smiles, which is why I made him to smile in this pin-up. He’s smiling, and flexing — kinda showing off and being silly. It’s a side of him that we rarely see. It’s a playful side that isn’t easy for him to access, but it’s there, underneath all that rippling, hardened exterior. And for those of you who love body hair, some characters have it, some don’t. Deimos has it! And just for the Hell of it (since I draw the body hair — except armpit hair — as a separate image that I later superimpose on the final colored file), I’ve given you a shaved down variant — though he looks “all wrong” that way to me! LOL! XD

Who’s the demon here? Is it Deimos or you, Patrick? You’ve given us not one, but two great graphics that drip with high-test testosterone. First the hirsute hunk with fur patterns that lead your eye on a guided tour all over his phenominal physique. Beckoning the viewer to reach out and explore the undergrowth of hair to discover the spectacular specimen beneath. Then the same stud shorn smooth and so hot he’s Hell-inistic. You can almost feel the sweep of his heavy pecs with their big nipples riding well below the crest. The slim, tapering waist with it’s taut expanse of cobbled abdominals. The flaring quads and powerful legs. All crowned with the genitalia of a god; underworld or otherwise. The huge cock criss-crossed with a vascular network that sustains a rigid, rock hard erection and in it’s shadow large testicles sheathed in skin that is a smooth as satin to the touch. Both men equally demi god and demon. How then to resolve the two? You’ve given us quite a riddle Patrick. The first is furred and feral. Roaming at night through the damp, darken streets and alley ways. On the prowl, but at the same time prey. Targeted by the sinister forces that would bring him under their complete control. Able to dispatch their minions in numbers too great for even the Taro Demon to withstand. Finally, after a fiercely fought ambush and transport, a shackled and hobbled Deimos faces his captors. Adversaries that offer the muscular and erotic specimen that stands before them naked and in chains a last chance to assent. Then when their offer is not accepted they order their prisoner taken away to be readied. Shaved practically bare so that none of the tortures to be inflicted upon his magnificent body will be thwarted or diminished.
Aww the first hairy picture of Deimos with the background has no pre-cum in it…
I like the Comics. I did like to enjoying to the Comics on my facebook. I am very laughing for Comic is very handsome. I was my amazed to get to very nice is comics. I Love Comics things.

This guy has always been one of my favorites. The beautiful skin colour, the fact that he`s a demon, the muscles and this beautiful cock. It`s just lovely! To me, your version is the best of him so far, though I`m really looking forward to Soto`s as well!

I love to see that you show us 2 Deimos with and witouth that hairy chest….. to tell you the truth Patrick, I love the Deimos more, with a shaved chest but his hairy armpits can stay, makes him looks so sexy …….and hot too…..

What can I say about Deimos that I haven’t said before. I think I even mentioned him the very first time I posted a comment on BTM many years ago. I fell in love with Deimos the very first time I saw him and he instantly became my favourite boytoon. It basically comes down to all those qualities you mention that attracked me so much.
While other artists like Logan and Soto do a fine job of portraying Deimos, it’s always a massive thrill to see work of Deimos done by you. So thanks for these brilliant illustrations Patrick. The extra work to make him hairy is defenitely worth it!
I do love hairy men…I love ’em without hair too, come to mention it. Really, as long as they’re hot and hung I love ’em XD

While the hairless Deimos is pretty hot ’cause we can see all of his rippling musculature, the Taro Demon is meant to be a hairy hunk of a man. LOL! You know every time I draw Deimos, I think of you! LOL!! :D I’ve always appreciated your love of the character and it’s always a real pleasure to hear that you have enjoyed one of my illustrations of him. I meant what I said in this post that I’ve become more comfortable drawing him. It’s a definite possibility that once the Logan Deimos series ends, I may end up drawing a Deimos title myself. But of course for now, we are deeply ensconced in Logan’s brilliant version and I couldn’t be happier with the direction that’s taking.
As for the things that make us love Deimos, I think it’s so cool that we share the same impressions. He’s a man’s man, and that just makes him so frikkin’ hot in my mind. You just want him to wrap you up in those big muscular arms and crush you against his heaving, hairy, sweaty chest! YUMMAH! I go weak in the knees just thinking about it! HA! HA! HA! XD
