Peaseblossom – by Patrick Devon and by Patrick Fillion!

Well, it has been a loooooooooong day and an even longer night! I am in the middle of finishing touches on Rapture #2, and working on Satisfaction Guaranteed #4 at the same time. I am also preparing updates for both and my personal website. Needless to say, I am pretty wiped! LOL!!! NOT that I am complaining! HA! HA! HA!

Soon I shall retire to bed and snuggle up to my Fraser and my CSI novel (hey, I need a little brain candy once in a while! I just love Grissom!!! LOL!) and get ready to have sweet dreams of Blogging and Cam and all his friends!!

But before I turn in for the evening, I thought I would share this image I recently completed! It was a commission for my pal, Patrick Devon! The illustration is for a play he is working on called Peaseblossom. The illustration is of his character by the same name! As you all know, I am always so darn busy, that I VERY RARELY take on outside commissions. But this one was a lot of fun, and I’d like to think it turned out nicely!

Meanwhile, you can check out Patrick Devon’s official site for more information on Peaseblossom, his plays and other projects.

So Good night my friends! Don’t let the bed bugs bite!

Big Dreamy kisses,

Patrick XOXOX

  1. Hey Patrick!

Tinkerbell has just taken on a whole new meaning. Wouldn’t it be nice to fall asleep everynight with a dream fairy like this keeping you safe.

    Very sweet!

    Licks & Chews!

  2. Hey Patrick. Sorry for flooding your posts, I think it’s wonderful you respond quickly and such to everyone. I just had a question and wasn’t sure where to ask you so I figured right here on your newest blog entry. What brought on the idea of Cam’s eyebrows? =) Just curious.

  3. Good morning Manny and Nick!

Glad you boys liked the Peaseblossom image! It was a real departure from my usual work, and I think that is why it was so fun! :o)

As for Cam’s eyebrows…. That’s a good question, Nick! I can’t say I ever set out to make them that way specifically, but I think it is one of those character elements that just evolved over the years of drawing him. I know I always wanted him to have heavy, bushy eyebrows, even back when I created when I was 12 years old! But I think the way they look currently sort of just happened!

I also remember thinking I wanted him to have a very masculine set of eyebrows, and although his are impossibly big, they are not at all feminine in my mind. Now they have kinda become his trademark… amongst OTHER things! An old friend of mine used to say it looked like I had stapled gerbils above his eyes! LOL!!! But you know it’s funny because a lot of male characters in comics and even video games seem to have really big eyebrows. Certainly Ryu and Ken from the Street Fighter games do! I guess it’s kinda trendy! HA! HA! HA!

    Thanks for the cool question!

Have a great day you guys!

  4. Haha intresting way to evolve them, I like it! I was just curious because you made them really unique and Cam has turned into one of them pure original characters. Not one that someone just drew up and slapped a name on. Cam’s been with ya since you were 12, he’s got heart in him! =D

  5. Hey Nick…

Yup! Sometimes I can’t even believe it has been that long, either! Granted, he wasn’t a walking hardon when I was 12…buuuuut it didn’t take him too long to get that way! LOL!!! Let’s just say he evolved as I did!

    Thanks for writing!
    Hugz + Kisses

  6. =O!? Your a walking hard on to?! LOL Kidding =P
