Paddles on Parade!

Hey Gang…

Are you interested in owning some of my original artwork AND supporting a worthwhile cause?  The Foundation for Sex Positive Culture approached me and asked if I could draw some of my Boytoons on wooden paddles that they would then auction off at their Paddles on Parade event.  I drew two — one with Incubus and one with Zahn.  These are one-of-a-kind, handmade paddles.

The Foundation is accepting bids now for these paddles which will be auctioned live at the Gala and online on February 14th starting with the Musician’s Paddle at 7:45pm. You must register in advance (by Friday) to bid online (February 13 is the deadline!).  Here’s a link to the bidding rules.

Check out the Paddles on Parade website for more details, or if you’re interested in attending the Gala in person.

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #148 – The Christmas Issue!

Dear friends…

It’s that time of the year again.  The Holidays are here.  And not a moment too soon!  LOL!  It has been a turbulent past 6 months for me, both personally and professionally.  In that time, I’ve moved, Class Comics has moved, I’ve renovated and I’ve hosted a ton of company and relatives and I’ve worked my butt off. LOL!  But I am not complaining! Really!  I wouldn’t change a thing!

I figure that the Holiday Season is a time for reflection, and despite the craziness of 2008, I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for everything.  Still, I can’t tell you how much I look forward to taking off for a few days and getting some R & R time with Fraser and my folks and family.  LOL!

It’s been an exciting year for me professionally too!  I got the chance to start a bunch of wicked new projects that I look forward to sharing with all of you in the New Year.  Stuff like Felinoids #3, Boytoon Adventures #1 and Zahn #2 has kept me feeling jazzed and very inspired about my work!

We’ve all had some great times here too, haven’t we!  I want to thank you all for spending this time with me and for reading my Blog.  I think I may have gotten a bit long-winded in recent posts, so I vow to keep things a bit more concise in the New Year!  HA! HA! HA!

I want to wish you all a Wonderful Holiday Season filled with Love, Happiness, Health and Success in everything you do.  I look forward to seeing you (and reading from you) in the New Year!

In closing, I leave you with the 2008 Class Comics Greetings Card.  Seemed appropriate to draw Zahn as Santa’s Little Helper this year (hardly “little”, but you know…!) since 2008 began with the release of his book!  I hope you enjoy him… and maybe this Christmas, he’ll be the one to leave your presents under the tree instead of Saint Nick! HA! HA! HA!

Happy Holidays!
With love and affection,
Patrick XOXO

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #146 – Boytoon Adventures #1 Sneak Peek!

Hiya Gang…

I have a lot of new projects coming up in 2009, but none has me more excited than Boytoon Adventures #1.  Plainly put, it’s the most fun I’ve had on a book in a long, long time.  Drawing as Bryce Peters is so freeing and a wonderful diversion from my usual style.

Boytoon Adventures #1 is going to be a trade paperback of 70+ pages, a first for Class Comics, and let me tell you that the book is looking pretty sweet – even if I do say so myself! LOL!  I’ve been receiving the colored pages from the book’s colorist, Dennis in the past few weeks, and the man is doing a terrific job.  The pages are really coming to life!

So you can look plan on seeing Camili-Cat, Locus, Zahn, Ghostboy, Diablo, Flamer, Captain Jung, Disco and the boys of the Initiation in this first issue, but I have also added a brand new story featuring a BRAND NEW CHARACTER named MAKO FINN. I am really stoked about this character and story, and I’ll be sure to share images and sneak peeks with you good people when I have some visuals done.

Meanwhile, I hope you will enjoy this little peek at Boytoon Adventures #1.  On today’s menu, pics from the books’ first 3 stories; “Camili-Cat: The Ruse”, “Locus: The Stow Away” and “Zahn: The Trap”! Enjoy and I’ll see you all back here again very soon!

Hugz + Kisses,
Patrick XOXO

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #143 – STRIPTEASE is here!

Hiya Gang…

I hope everyone has had a great week.  I have some really great news this morning.  My new book, Striptease is back from the printer and now on sale on the Class Comics website.  The cool thing about this one is that is was not supposed to be out until next year, but we had everything finished up in time and figured we’d put it out before Christmas.

In this industry, it’s pretty rare to have stuff done ahead of time!  I think for me, it’s definitely a first!  LOL!

So what the heck is Striptease?  Well, it’s a collection of the one-page mini comic strips I’ve created over the years.  You will have seen some of them in the adult section of my website, but I created a whole bunch of new ones for this book.  There’s a bunch of new stuff in this.

The comic stars a lot of my Boytoons.  Camili-Cat, Zahn, Locus, Lanor and Space Cadet are featured prominently, but there are also some new faces.  Cauldron, today’s cover Boytoon is one of those new faces.  You see, Striptease is a light-hearted fun, with lots of humor and sex… but I wanted it to have some good substance as well, so I created a 3-part Zahn #2 prequel for the book.

That’s where you’ll meet Cauldron, who is similar to Zahn in that he too is an elemental.  Pay close attention to Jonah’s reaction to Cauldron.  I’m dropping some MAJOR hints as to what is really going on in Varda.

You’ll also get to see Dominion and Devilhound in comic book format for the first time.  I’ve drawn them a few times over the years, and even written short fiction about Devilhound, but this is the first time these Boytoons actually appear in a comic.

Feels to me like Striptease has been a long, LONG time in the making, and in some ways it has.  Some of the strips in it date back to 2001 and it’s such a great joy for me to see them all collected together in one book.  Mostly, I enjoyed working on Striptease for the humor.  You people know me, and you know I like the dramatic in most of my stories.  Humor feels good once in a while and is a nice break from the way I typically like to write.

Also I wanted to let you know that Fraser and I just finished the official Striptease Mini Site.  It’s now live for you guys to check out.  My favorite part about this mini site is the character bio section.  It was a blast to put together.  PLUS, there are 4 brand new wallpaper designs for you guys in the goodies section.  I hope you will enjoy them.  They’re my way of saying thanks for your constant support and encouragement.  You guys are all MAJORLY appreciated! :-)

Meanwhile, for those of you who prefer to get your Class Comics through your local comic shop, Striptease is also available through the Diamond Previews Adult catalog.  You can pre-order it now from your fave shop (STRIPTEASE DCD ITEM: DEC08 3877 ISBN: 978-1-897102-42-8)

I’ll be back here very soon with some new artwork for you guys, a huge Boytoon Adventures #1 preview as well as reviews of some really cool new gay comics I’ve just gotten my hands on.

Thanks again for everything, my friends!
Hugz + Kisses,
Patrick XOXO

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #139 – The Art of Iceman!

It can be tricky for an artist to make a living with their art these days – ESPECIALLY when one draws homo erotic art.  Often artists start out by offering their works up to the public for free.  It helps to build ones’ name and general awareness of ones’ art.  Over time however, as experience is acquired and knowledge of the business side of things is picked up, artists can find ways to make their art more lucrative.

Artists have to eat too. ;)

I’ve known Iceman for a very long time.  I’ve witnessed his evolution as an artist, delighted in his raunchy creations and enjoyed his highly creative scenarios.  It’s been a real joy seeing him come into his own and arrive at where he is today.  With the launch of his new website, Iceman offers fans an opportunity to see what he is truly capable of.  You’ve only to enter his wonderful member’s section to find out.

Yes, this new section is a pay section, but it’s money well spent. What it has going for it on top of Iceman’s wicked illustrations and comics is a creator who is exceptionally prolific.  That means the updates are regular, and just keep getting better and better.

One of the things I enjoy most about the new section is a chance to finally see some of Iceman’s own characters in action.  Iceman is well known for his slash art – those naughty depictions of the Marvel and DC Comics boys to name just a few – but as long as I have known him, I have longed to see what characters he could dream up.  I must say, I am not disappointed at what Iceman has conjured up!

Midnightman, Samson and Apollos are just 3 of his sexy characters that seem more than happy to bend over and shoot their huge loads for our enjoyment.  These characters are all quite different in flavor, but I have to say my favorite so far is the delicious Apollos.  This gorgeous blonde Boytoon speeds around on his wicked-cool air-cycle thingy and does King Levites’ bidding, fighting in the name of truth and love.  Oh yeah — Also, he fucks anything with a pulse.

The bi-sexual elements of the Apollos strip only serve to enhance the main character’s masculine beauty and sensuality.  He is a warrior, yes – but he is also very much a pleasure toy.  Apollos is a perfect balance of the hero and the lover, and this results in highly sexually charged adventures, let me tell you.

Iceman is a wonderful artist and he is also proving himself a very capable writer.  His scenarios are fun and make you want to know what happens next with the turn of every page.

On top of all the web comics, you will enjoy several pin-ups and very naughty games.  I guarantee Midnightman’s ass won’t be quite the same by the time you are done with him – Heh! Heh! Heh!

But fans who do not want to sign up for the new pay section need not despair.  Iceman’s freebies are no less raunchy.  In fact, his freebie section is populated by some of his best Slash and Fan Art.  It’s only his original material that you have to pay to access.

Iceman was kind enough to draw up 2 stunning Zahn illustrations to accompany this issue’s article, and I just love his take on my sexy gay barbarian.  These 2 beautiful illustrations are a fine example of how much this talented and creative artist has to offer. I encourage you to check out his website and dive into the very cool world of the one and only Iceman.

This Just In: Drake Does Zahn — By Hotcha!

Hey folks…

As you all know, I am a sucker for fan art!  LOL!  I want to share this latest piece with you today.  My pal Hotcha drew Zahn getting royally plowed by Drake.  YUMMMY!  Drake is Hotcha’s own creation and he’s a total hottie.  Both he and Zahn look gorgeous together, going at it in the snow!

Thanks so much for drawing this beautiful image, Hotcha.  The tension, the hotness, the action of it all — it’s really wickedly sexy!  I totally LOVE IT!!!

If you good people would like to see more of Hotcha’s gorgeous work (and I bet you would! ;) check out his gallery!

Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of your Monday, and I’ll see you again very soon!

Lotsa luv!

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #135 – The End of Summer Issue!

Hey everybody….

Summer has come, and pretty much gone rather unseen to Fraser and I!  Moving from one home to the next can leave you feeling pretty harried, and that’s exactly what happened to us!  Not that I am complaining, mind you.  In the end, we are super happy to have moved into our new digs.  That being said, the craziness of the summer did not stop there.

After you move, it seems all of the people you have ever been related to want to see your new pad.  At least, that is the way it was with us.  So one after another, my mother, my brother and his wife, Fraser’s mother and his aunt and uncle from Switzerland all came by for a visit.  This is of course a wonderful treat, since we adore our families, but the result has been a Summer that has flown by rather quickly, and left no trace.

This year, there were no trips to local lakes.  No road trips.  No attending Comic Conventions.  No barbecues… and worst of all, very little drawing for yours truly!!!

I am happy to report that for the next little while, I am relatively, well, relative free… and despite how much I appreciate their visits, I am looking forward to getting back to work.

It has also occurred to me that Boytoons Magazine has been somewhat neglected throughout the Summer… but without new material, I have also not had all that much to share personally.  Still, I wanted to say goodbye to the Summer of 2008, a Summer of whirlwinds and company… with a little bit of style!  And I do have some fun stuff to share!

A few weeks back, I celebrated my 35th birthday, and I received a wonderful gift from my friend Ismael Alvarez.  He drew his adorable Bruno character dressed up as Zahn.  I’ve been meaning to post this little guy for weeks, and at last here he is.  Isn’t he adorable!!!  I think the resemblance is striking!  LOL!

Also a few weeks back, I announced that as Bryce Peters, I was working on Boytoon Adventures.  It seems this inspired my pal Chubtoons to create his own Boytoon Adventure-style rendition of Deimos.  He did a superb job I might add!  I just love the graffiti wings on the wall – It’s a very cool touch!  Deimos looks so sexy by Chubtoons’ talented hand!

With the end of Summer inevitably comes the Fall, my favorite season.  The Fall brings Halloween, one of my 2 fave Holidays, as well as the new TV season – THANK GOD for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Summer Glau is a Goddess!!!), and while Fringe looks quite promising, I eagerly await October 3rd for the premiere of the Star Wars: Clone Wars series on the Cartoon Network.

A special thank you should go out to Ronald McDonald for getting together with George Lucas and putting out 18 wicked little Star Wars Bobble head toys which I happily collected!  Yes – such is the extent of my geekiness!  HA! HA! HA!

And speaking of Star Wars, this year the fall brings us Star Wars: The Force Unleashed! At last, a Star Wars game worth celebrating, this thing simply ROCKS!!!  Being a huge SW fan (in case you weren’t sure about that yet!  LOL!) , I can tell you that I am looking forward to hours of mind-numbing Sith action.

But first things first!  I am happily back at work on Boytoon Adventures, Felinoids #3, Rapture #3 (which has just been solicited through Diamond Distributors) and several other projects.  Boytoon Adventures continues to be a real joy to play with, while Felinoids #3 is getting raunchier by the very minute! LOL!

And fear not, though this issue may have been mostly about personal reflection, I have some really fun surprises coming up for you shortly!  So stay tooned as I make a point of updating a little more frequently! Till next time, my friends.  Have a fantastic afternoon, and I’ll see you back here again very shortly!

Hugz + Kisses to all of you!
Patrick XOXO

PS – On the cover today is an image I managed to do last month for Black Inches Magazine.  It was colored, rather exquisitely I might add, by my pal and long-time colorist Hernán Cabrera!  Enjoy!

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #131 – Boytoon Adventures revealed!

Hey everybody….

Hope you are all well.  I am buried in boxes up to my eyebrows.  HA! HA! HA!  As you know, Fraser and I are moving into our new digs – on Thursday of this week in fact – and we’ve been busy little campers trying to get everything in order and ready to be moved.  So before I go off line for a few days, I wanted to say one last quick hello and bring you a little more info on Boytoon Adventures!

A little while ago, I was reading some of my beloved Star Wars Clone Wars Adventures, and it occurred to me how fun, cutting edge and sleek the style of those comics is.  In fact, that style of drawing seems quite popular lately.  You see it in a ton of DC cartoons and comics, and Marvel seems to be adopting it to some degree as well.  So I thought, I want to try my hand at this.

I began to doodle and soon it became pretty evident that the style (or my version of it at least) was really working for me.  Next thing I knew, Fraser and I were loving the results and soon after that, we started making plans for an actual Trade Paperback or Digest format book called “Boytoon Adventures #1”.

Now this is the part where you might think I am a bit nutty, but so as not to confuse folks, (because I most certainly am not about to give up my traditional style of drawing), I am going to use a public pen name for Boytoon Adventures.  While drawing in this style, I will be doing so as “Bryce Peters”.  Why Bryce Peters you ask?   Well, here’s a little bit of background info for you.  WAAAAAY back at the start of my career as an artist of gay male erotic comics, I seriously considered using a pen name.  Bryce Peters was the name I came up with.  Obviously, I decided not to go with a pen name for my art back then… but for the Boytoon Adventures stuff, it seems like a fun and appropriate alias!

Anyhow, back to the book itself.  The Digest will be roughly 70 full-color pages and feature four complete 15-page short stories.

The first story features Locus, Flamer, Disco and Jung, and picks up at the point where Locus joins Captain Jung’s crew.  I introduce a cool new villain in this story which I found lots of fun! The second story is a Ghostboy story, which will also feature Diablo.  The third is a Zahn story, which will focus on a scene barely touched upon in Zahn #1 – prepare to enter into the swamps of Lyrria.

As for the fourth story, Fraser has penned that one.  It features some of the characters from the Initiation.  This is exciting for us because it marks our first real collaboration on a comic together.

The really fun thing about Boytoon Adventures is that for me as an artist, it is a liberating change of pace.  My usual style is so precise and painstaking, and this new way of drawing is a little more carefree and loose.  Suffice it to say that this has come at a great point in my life.  I’ve been feeling the need for a little freshness in my art, and Boytoon Adventures is really providing that!

Also a real plus about this style is that I can generally turn out about 2 – 3 pages per day, fully penciled and inked.  My usual style can take a full day just to ink.  So again, big difference! LOL!

I am an artist that enjoys working on lots of different things at once.  Right now I have Felinoids #3, Deimos #2, Rapture #3, A new Cube book and a few other projects on the go… but Boytoon Adventures has been a really great way to keep creative while doing so in a very different way from what I am used to.  That rocks!

Just so you know, this title is cartoonier, but it is no less adult.  I have made a point of coming up with scripts that are super sexy and filled with loads of man-sex.  The cum is still spurting, and the Boytoons are just as hard.  The stories are no less important to me in this project either, and each one fits into the continuity of the featured characters perfectly.  In this case “cartoony” will certainly not equal “silly”!

So if all goes according to plan, Boytoon Adventures #1 should be available by the end of 2008.  That may seem ambitious for such a new project so late in the season… but consider this.  I am already 30 pages in! Not bad for something I started a mere few months ago!

I hope you will stay tooned dear friends, ‘cause I will post more artwork from Boytoon Adventures #1 as I get more done.  And I hope that even though the style is more cartoony that you will all give it a chance.  I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

Meanwhile, I must get back to packing up so that I am ready to go when the Movers arrive.  Wish me luck and I’ll be back as soon as I am settled in.  I’ll have more goodies for ya then, and I’ll get around to answering all of your wonderful comments on the Ali and Sean Z post then too!  Talk to you soon!

Hugz + Kisses to all of you!
