BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #124 – A new home for Boytoons Magazine!

Boytoons Magazine #124

Good morning my friends, and welcome to the new home of BOYTOONS MAGAZINE! It’s hard to believe that 2 years ago, I started the BOYTOONS blog. Honestly, I had my doubts that I would ever keep doing it this long, but over that time, the blog grew and grew, and eventually, became something I couldn’t imagine myself without.

A few weeks back, my Blog, while hosted at Blogger, was flagged because some readers of contacted Google because they believe this it’s content is objectionable. It is not Blogger’s nature to endorse or to review the Blogs they host, and the truth is that anyone can stumble onto a Blog and flag it if they disapprove of the material it contains. I suppose it was inevitable that BOYTOONS would eventually be flagged by someone.

At first I had no issue with being flagged, even though that annoying warning page appeared in front of the Blog every time someone tried to access it. But soon, it became apparent that I was losing readers. A lot of folks simply don’t want to deal with the whole “accept/decline” hassle of the warning page, and just chose to drop the Blog. I have to respect that.

But I don’t have to accept it.

Flagging at Blogger!

And so, here we are. Fraser and I looked at all the options very carefully and realized that BTM has taken on a life of it’s own over the past 2 years and we decided that it deserved its own website and that it also deserved to be free of Blogger. Again please note, I am not knocking Blogger or their service. After all it was thanks to Blogger that this Blog came to be. But it was time to make the move from Blogger to a more independent service, and WordPress held a lot of appeal.

So as I said, here we are… not only with a new URL, but also a bold new look. I needed a change anyway! I got to give the BTM logo a heck of a makeover, which I couldn’t be happier about. PLUS, the covers of the magazine are now quite a lot larger, something a lot of you have emailed me about over the past 2 years. Seems the BTM covers are still a big fave!

I wanted to make a big splash with this issue, and decided that my pal Glen Hanson’s gorgeous Speedo boy would do quite nicely! He feels like Summer, and I love that. It’s rained so much here in Vancouver lately, and now the sun has started to join us. It’s about time! I felt it would be nice to celebrate that with a very warm cover.

Meanwhile, I have to say a great big thank you to my Fraser who set up this new version of BTM, and posted over ALL the old entries from the original Blog. It was no easy task, nor is it an exact science. So please bear with us when you review the older entries as some stuff may be wonky, and some comments may have been lost in translation. I’ll be taking the time to go back and fix a lot of stuff so that it fits with the new version of BTM a bit better.

In closing, I just thought you might like to know that I have some big plans for BTM and some cool issues planned for the future. I hope you will all bookmark my new address and keep on joining me here. Your comments are still always most welcome and I will keep on answering them the way I have in the past.

Thanks again for joining me, my friends. Let’s keep having fun! See ya here again shortly!

Hugz + Kisses,

Patrick XOXO
