The folks at TLA video have just announced the 2010 TLA Gaybies – their very own awards meant to honor the best work of gay writers, filmmakers and performers in their respective fields.

I am SO PLEASED to let you guys know that a bunch of my own projects as well as several other books released by Class Comics last year have been nominated and YOU can vote for your favorites.

In the BEST GAY COMIC category, these Class Comics titles were nominated:
-    Striptease
-    Rapture #3
-    Naked Justice: Beginnings #1
-    The Initiation #2
-    Porky #3

In the BEST GAY EROTICA category, this Class Comics title was nominated:
-    Boytoon Adventures #1

Well folks…

…All good things must come to an end. It’s been a full 2 weeks of back to back postings, and we’ve certainly had a blast, haven’t we!  LOL!  Tonight, Sunday night — the last night of the 2010 Winter Olympics here in Vancouver — and I’ve just gotten back from watching the closing ceremonies with some good friends.  What a show!  In particular, Alanis was lovely and sounded wonderful.  She was a joy to watch.  Congrats to all the athletes!! :o)

I could talk about Crash Course #1, Tug Harder #2, the up-coming Captain Eclipse #1, or any number of other Class Comics project, but instead, I will bid you all a fabulous good night and retire early.  It’s been a big weekend, and this artist needs his beauty rest!  LOL!

I’ll be back sooner than you know it, with more cool Boytoon-related postings… but for now I’m off to dreamland!

I trust everyone is having a lovely Saturday? I have a few teasers for you this evening.  They are for “Captain Eclipse” written and illustrated by Iván García.  Book #1 is coming this year from Class Comics and it’s absolutely fantastic!  I am super excited by this title because it is a true science fiction epic saga if ever I have seen one… and best of all it features a fantastic cast of truly original gay protagonists.

Captain Eclipse is a non-sexually explicit  book, but it has plenty of sensuality and sexy characters.  So if you are looking for a seriously well written and illustrated comic without any hard-core sex in it… if you’re really just looking for a mainstream comic that speaks to you by providing incredible story telling and action through compelling gay characters, then Captain Eclipse is a series for you.

I trust you’ve all recovered from the Lady Gaga parody I posted yesterday night!  HA! HA! HA!

This morning I have some very cool stuff for you! Some gorgeous hot new wallpaper designs by new-artist/writer-to-Class Comics, Nicolas Brunet.  If you’re not yet familiar with Nicolas and his über-sexy work, you will want to check out his first Class Comics title “Straight to…” #1. It’s an exclusive Class Access Digital Comic and well worth downloading.

“Straight to…” is about a company that can take any hetero guy and convert him to gay! Hmmm… I bet a lot of us have wished once or twice that this sort of thing were possible, huh? LOL!

In issue #1, we’re introduced to Alex and Richy, two very hot studs who are both pivotal to these sex shenanigans.  These boys are constantly horny and excel at their jobs!  If you guys have missed my Satisfaction Guaranteed series since it wrapped up, you’ll love “Straight to…” because this series features super hot, real guys doing what they love best!

Nico’s put together a sensational first issue filled with intrigue and amazing sex-capades.  And though issue #1 is in black and white, you won’t want to miss it.  Besides, I’ve seen pages from the up-coming second issue and it is in full color, and insanely hot!

I came across this little parody of Laday Gaga’s “Bad Romance” while browsing one of my favorite photography Blogs, Pink and Wrinkly! I confess, I feel kinda guilty (not to mention a bit silly) laughing at this since it’s quite crass and pretty disgusting… but I just can’t help it! It’s just so damn well done!  Great job Sherry Vine! LOL! ;)

Hello folks…

Today we take a look at some art created for Camili-Cat: Felinoids #3 and Boytoon Adventures #1… Art that may be kinda cool, but ultimately was never used.

Initially, I had mapped out an entire sex scene for the end of Felinoids #3 in which Cam fucks Locus. It may have gotten cut, but I have always loved the energy of this particular panel!

I yanked this entire panel out from Felinoids #3, page 9 and replaced it with a completely different image. In the end, it was for the best, even if this original panel is still kinda hot!

Even cover sketches go unsued -- Actually, ESPECIALLY cover sketches!! Until the perfect illustration is hatched, I keep sketching until I get it right. This image may be hot, but ultimately was too hard core and didn't quite convey what I wanted for Felinoids #3.

See, as an artist, you always end up penciling WAY more stuff than you ever end up inking — well I certainly do, in any case! I personally have drawers filled with pencil sketches that will never be finalized.

I once struggled with this notion.  I guess a part of me sorta felt like the stuff was wasted.  But now I don’t think that way anymore.  I realize that sometimes to get to a great final product, you have to cut stuff that just doesn’t add to the quality of the project in question.  That doesn’t mean the stuff you cut is crap… it just means that you either run out of space, or come up with things that work better in the overall scheme of things.

A sexy little skech of Cam that I always meant to ink as a Boytoon Adventures pin-up, but never got around to. I do so like Camili-Cat's little bubble butt here though! HA! HA! HA! Meanwhile, I couldn't quite decide if I should show his balls or not. Ah well... add it to the pile!

Locus and Cam all tied up for Boytoon Adventures #1. Since they don't actually appear together in the book, I decided to leave this pin-up image out!

Originally, I thought I might produce "faux covers" for each story contained in Boytoon Adventures #1. This image was to be used as the cover for the Cam story. Whne I junked the faux cover idea, I junked this image!

It’s all part of the creative journey and of the refining process.  And if nothing else, it makes for cool “behind the scenes”materials. Still, some of this stuff I quite like and enjoyed drawing, so I felt that you might like a little peek into my junk drawer!  LOL! ;)

Good morning my friends…

It’s a bright sunny Monday morning here in Vancouver, and I figured sharing this gorgeous cover with you would be a great way to kick off the week: Check out Angelface #2!  That’s the sexy Red on the cover, (my personal favorite character from the series) looking all come-hitherish, half undressed backstage at a Broadway show.

Those of you familiar with Angelface #1 will remember Red as the betrayed lover of Alan, “Angelface” himself.  Alan doesn’t treat Red very well, but Red’s decided he isn’t gonna take it anymore.  He’s come up with a plan to make Alan pay for double-crossing him.

Angelface #2 doesn’t just have a stunning cover, but you’ll be thrilled to know that it is full color on the inside.  Issue #1 was monochromatic to better reflect the era in which the series takes place, but for issue #2, series creator Benoît Prévot has decided to beautiful, lush colors.

Angelface #2 is coming up soon, and I couldn’t be happier. I must confess that this is a series that completely captures my imagination. It’s a gorgeous, erotic voyage back in time where the men are completely irresistible.

Hiya Gang.

Well, there you have it — A whole week of posts.  What a fun time we’ve had.  And you know what?  I’ve decided to do another full week of posting starting tomorrow! Yup — another 7 posts in a row!  WAH-HOO! I have some really cool stuff planned for next week, so be sure to toon in!

Meanwhile, I thought I would end this week of posts with a little silliness.  Fraser insisted it was time I get me a new Facebook profile pic, so he had me pull out my Uglies and strike a pose or two with my colorful, little friends.

Yes!  I am obsessed. Uglydolls are a total obsession of mine.  I admit this freely.  Most toys are.  I think it’s very important to stay young at heart and be a big kid for as long as you can.

So there you have it. I have the Uglies. In fact I can’t seem to have enough Uglies. LOL!  But can you blame me?  They’re so freakin’ adorable and squishy!

One of the things I love doing most for Class Comics is what Fraser and I affectionately refer to as coming up with “Freebies” for our readers.  As a consumer myself, I like to get a little extra for my buck when I order stuff online, so in return I love that clients who order directly from Class Comics get cool extras as well.

The new Class Comics Universe Heroes trading cards -- get some free with your order of comics!

In the past, we’ve done a lot of advertising cards and stuff, but I’ve been wanting to put together a new series of Class Comics trading cards ever since we released the Bottom Deck a few years back.  Folks seemed to love the Bottom Deck.  It was pretty cool!  But these new trading cards are even cooler. Lemme tell you why.

First of all, this series of cards is called the “Class Comics Universe Heroes” series, which means it features not only my characters, but also characters from other creators and series that Class Comics publishes.  But even better, these cards are actually “biography” cards.  On one side you get a cool image of the character in question, and on the other side you get a cool bio on him.  Way more fun than the Bottom Deck that really only featured one sided images.  Check out the 4 examples I’ve posted above.  They’re just a few of the ones we’ve already produced!

So how can you get these new cards? Well, you’re gonna get a few free with each order you place for comics through the Class Comics website.  Meanwhile, I can’t quite say how many cards will be in the series and which characters will make appearances, because honestly right now, I’m just having fun putting these little suckers together.  BIG fans be advised: the Class Comics Universe Heroes cards are here, HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE and they are way cool. Plus the first few are shipping out now with Tug Harder #2 and Crash Course #1!
