HOLY CRAP! 200 issues of Boytoons Magazine! And even more postings to this Blog than I can actually count. WAH-HOO!!! Honestly, I never thought I’d stick with Blogging this long, but you know what, I am really glad I did.

Over the past four years I’ve had the opportunity to share some really cool stuff with all of you. We’ve discovered new artists together. We’ve enjoyed beautiful and erotic artwork together. We’ve laughed, and we’ve “seriously” discussed. I’ve certainly appreciated sharing my projects with all of you and showing off my latest works for your viewing pleasure. In a nutshell, it’s been a lot of fun.

How nice that the release of Zahn #2 should coincide with the 200th issue of Boytoons Magazine! I was DYING to put that image of Zahn spreading his muscular legs for us on the cover, because in many ways, it not only captures the essence of Zahn #2, but it also perfectly embodies what Boytoons Magazine is all about: Sexy, hung male cartoons, turning us on and entertaining us.

You will notice that Zahn #2 (as well as the recently released Naked Justice: Beginnings #2) is actually available as both a printed and a digital edition. I was that eager to share the book with all of you good people. Also I’ve come to understand that there is a vast majority of you that are digital clients, and it’s not right to make you wait. So you have your choice of formats.

I thought long and hard about what to talk about for the 200th issue of my Blog. It’s a big achievement after all. In the end, I decided that Zahn #2 was what SHOULD be discussed. I’ve been hard at work on this book for such a long time now, and you’ve all been so enthusiastic and supportive all the way during my creative process… it just felt right. I also sort of feel that Zahn is no longer an “infant title”. It’s officially a series now, with 2 issues to its name, and a third one – yup already – in the planning stages. I felt like celebrating that.

You might be interested to know that Zahn as a series actually gave me back my joy of drawing erotic comics. The truth is that before coming up with Zahn, I was worried that my work was getting a bit stale. I wanted a new challenge, something to really sink my creative teeth into. By that I mean, I wanted to create something with a really captivating story and narrative to it. Something that had brains, not just cock! I needed to see if I was still capable of doing this as an artist.

Whether folks agree with me on this or not is their own personal right, but my feeling is that I managed to accomplish this goal with Zahn. And not only that – but Zahn has sort of renewed my inspiration and interest in writing story-rich, hard core erotic comics.

I wanna thank Zahn for helping me do that. And I wanna thank you guys for being so supportive and for making Zahn one of your fave Class Comics heroes. I think it’s only fair to say that your enthusiasm and love for the character have definitely fueled my own appreciation of him.

Well – Zahn #2 is done, and I have already started scripting out the third issue. The poop really hit the fan in issue #2, and I can’t wait to show you what comes next. If you do pick up Zahn #2, (and I HOPE you do! LOL!) I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. Your comments are always very important to me.

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #199 – Celebrating Mythical Men!

Mythical Males are a huge part of gay erotic comics. You have all kinds, really – from fantastic superheroes, handsome alien hunks to your more traditional mythology-based centaurs, satyrs, demons, angels – the ever arousing list goes on and on. As a creator of gay erotic comics, I’ve drawn my share of a most of these types of men, loving each and every pencil stroke, because let’s face it… Mythical Men are extremely HOT and they turn our cranks for reasons we can’t always grasp. But it’s enough that they just do!

My pal Dinosaurprince, (one of the community’s most prolific creators of beautiful Mythical Men), emailed me a few days ago about two wonderful Blogs that actually celebrate the Mythical Man. I immediately fell in love with these Blogs. They are a fabulous blend of artwork and photography, both dedicated to celebrating men of mythical natures and origins.

Mythulinity -- where men align with their TRUE NATURES!

MYTHULINITY is a fantastic Blog which offers a vast amount of beautiful photography and artwork. One of my favorite features on this Blog is the “Daily Manimal” – always a prime example of masculinity, you never know what form this hunk will take. It’s a great, regular little treat to look forward to. Mythulinity, owned and operated by a fantastic fellow named GreggerMan. He offers a variety of posts that include not only images, but videos as well. GreggerMan’s is an eclectic palate, and I love that he shares his refined appreciation for wonder and beauty with the rest of us.

the Daily Manimal is a regular feature on the MYTHULINITY blog.

Perhaps my favorite aspect of this Blog is that it is extremely respectful of its source material. GreggerMan is always careful to list the names of artist responsible for the creation of the artwork and photographs being posted and because of this, Mythulinity is a great source of discovery. Believe me when I say that perusing this Blog will inevitably lead you to discover tons of new artists, sites, and even other like-minded Blogs which all offer an equally impressive amount of eye candy.

Warriors of Fantasy is a fabulous Blog about Mythical Males.

WARRIORS OF FANTASY is Eleshar’s Blog, and it’s another fantastic realm of discover and wonder, where beautiful men of Mythical origins roam wild, such as the brilliant Kupopo’s satyr and Minotaur, seen below. . A lot of the posts are specifically themed, and the images and photographs that accompany the posts are always very elegant and quite beautiful. Eleshar is very artistic, and has a very keen eye for beauty. He collects some of the internet’s most erotic photographs, and transforms them into beautiful black and white pieces, worthy of hanging in art galleries.

You'll find many kinds of Mythical Males on Warriors of Fantasy, such as Kupopo's Satyr and Minotaur.

I love this Blog for its equal parts of illustrations and photography, and Eleshar manages to blend the two extremely well. He’s also a wonderful writer, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the texts that accompany his posts. With so much to read, view and discover, Warriors of Fantasy is a Blog that you can easily get immersed into for hours. And like Mythulinity, this Blog is a valuable resource for discovering yet more men of Mythical origins, and the artists who create them.

And speaking of breathtaking Mythical Males, how about the cover illustration of today’s issue? I absolutely LOVE this piece which was created for Dinosaurprince based upon one of his super-sexy scenarios by a fantastic up and coming artist named Kagami06. His interpretation of Captain Jung, Disco, Strider, Space Cadet and Imanno is simply to die for, and quite fitting of this issue’s theme. BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #198 – The art & blog of JEZZA SMILEZ!

You know, when I started Boytoons Magazine back in May of 2006, there really didn’t seem to be a ton of other Blogs devoted to gay male erotic art and the artists who create it. I remember thinking what a pleasure it was to write about all of these amazing creators whose work I found so inspiring, and genuinely hoped that Blogs of this nature would take off and become more abundant. I wanted to share my love of the genre with all of you.

Flash-forward to more than 4 years in later, and the internet is full of Blogs featuring gay erotic art. Many are absolutely terrific and checking them daily is a part of my morning routine. But it strikes me that few of them actually discuss the gay erotic art community beyond their own contribution to it. Now that’s not a bad thing! It’s wonderful to see Blogs that are dedicated to a single artist, usually the Blog owner — I LOVE that! But every so often you find a Blog that is truly committed to the gay erotic arts community and to an even greater degree, to bringing you information on the artists who are responsible for creating the art.

The Blog of artist Jezza Smilez, JEZZ LOADS is such a Blog. Jezza is a fabulous artist who loves what he does. He also has a deep love and respect for his fellow artists. He’s an artist AND a fan. His love has led him to conduct amazing interviews with virtually dozens of creators of gay erotic art.

From Logan to Joe Philips, Belasco, Jacob Mott and Iceman Blue, to name just a few, Jezza’s interviews are always fabulously in-depth. He covers topics from the industry – how to make it as a professional artist – to what inspires his fellow creators to do what they do best. He even manages to get up close and personal with his questions. Trust me, Jezza recently interviewed me, and the stuff I told him surprised even me. He’s that good! And I think that’s because he himself is such an up-front, down to earth guy. You can’t help but feel comfortable enough with him to spill all of your raunchy beans! LOL!

I see Jezza as a solid and very important pillar of the gay erotic arts community. He’s managed to do something that few artist/bloggers have – he’s managed to bring us all closer to the artists we love. And through his love of the scene, he’s become one of it’s greatest assets and sources of info. That’s actually quite a HUGE accomplishment.

Art is a competitive field. There are a ton of really talented people who are trying to make a go of it, and that can be a very isolating thing. You can get pretty focused on your own struggles and adventures. It’s fantastic to see that someone like Jezza create a Blog that is truly devoted to opening up the gay erotic arts community and to bringing all of us, creators and fans alike, closer.

What could be better than that? Well, how about the fact that Jezza not only offers you all of this cool stuff I mentioned, but he also treats you to his super-sexy artwork too! The guy is incredibly prolific, and his studs are all sooooo damn HAWT! He drew a TON of cool Class Comics fan art to accompany the interview he did with me that I absolutely HAD to share it with you today – like the GORGEOUS Deimos illustration he drew that I simply HAD to put on this issue’s cover!

Believe me when I tell you that Jezza Smilez is an artist you will want to follow for two very important reasons… his artwork is über sexy, and his Blog is quickly becoming one of the most important sources of info on all your favorite gay artists. I for one am extremely excited to see Jezza and his Blog grow even further. JEZZ LOADS is the Entertainment Weekly of gay erotic art Blogs!

I whipped up several new pieces for ilLUSTrations and it’s especially wicked seeing some of these images in print for the very first time ever.

Oh my God, this issue is simply incredible and I think you will all agree that it is even better and even hotter than NJB issue #1. You can get it in print or as a digital edition, so don’t miss out. This is some of Jacob’s most beautiful work to date, and I am very proud of the direction the story is headed in. And you know it’s a hilarious read too, because Donald MacLean is back as dialog doctor, giving the repartee his own fabulous brand of humor.

I’ll keep you posted on Zahn #2, the Mark of Aeacus #2 and Deimos #2 as soon as I get release info. It’s a slooooow frikkin’ summer at press man. Grrrr… but what can you do? Some things are just beyond our control!

BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #196 – FIRST LOOK at 3 AWESOME Class Comics titles!

Hello my friends…

You know, in life it’s very important to focus on the good stuff, and put the negative things aside. So, I choose to get over the fact that the Big Class Comics Summer line-up has been slightly delayed due to unforeseen events at press, and to focus instead on the 3 MAJORLY HUGE up-coming titles: Zahn #2, Deimos #2 and Naked Justice: Beginnings #2.

Seriously, this couldn’t be a more MASSIVE line-up of books. Considering that these are all highly anticipated issues, I think I speak for everyone when I say it’ll be amazing to FINALLY see these suckers in print.

Deimos #2 is drawn by the incredible Logan, and written by yours truly, and it’s a fantastic follow-up to the first issue of the series. It’s got a lot of cool twists and surprises, and believe it or not, mister dick-the-size-of-a-school-bus himself, Bob even gets a SEX-SCENE all to himself! Yes, Logan and I are twisted… but in the very best of ways, I assure you! HA! HA! HA! Get your FIRST LOOK at the wicked Deimos #2 on the official Class Comics website.

Naked Justice: Beginnings #2 has a lot of people talking! People can’t get enough of the amazing Jacob Mott’s incredible art, and I’ve prepared some really fun surprises for you in this issue. NJ meets THE villain that could end his new career as England’s most celebrated superhero… and a new UBER arch-nemesis with past ties to NJ rears his nasty, evil head! Oh, and did I mention that this one is PACKED with sex, sex, SEX! You know I listen to you guys… you asked for it, and Jacob and I put it in the comic! You can get your FIRST LOOK at the superb NJB2 over at the Class Comics website.

And last, but not least, is Zahn #2. Boys and Girls, I gotta tell you, I am really proud of this one. It’s been a while in the making, but in the end, I think it came together beautifully. I teamed up with Golden Key on the colors for this issue, and he’s done a magnificent job of bringing the Son of Winter and his pals to life. Man, you could almost reach into the pages and caress them. YUMMAH! LOL! If you check out the FIRST LOOK at Zahn #2 over at the Class Comics website, you’ll also get the opportunity to read the FIRST FOUR PAGES of ZAHN #2 for FREE!

So, printing delays aside, I believe that good things come to those who wait. It won’t be too much longer now, folks – I promise. Meanwhile, I’ll keep you all posted on the official release dates for these three books as soon as I get them.

AH! Summer at last. I say “at last” because we residents of Vancouver, British Columbia had one of the cruddiest Junes on record. It poured and poured and poured… and would you believe that on the 4th of July, Fraser was forced to turn on the frikkin’ heat in our house? Yes I know – MADNESS!

But the sun is finally here, and it’s inspired me to get down to business and put out my official BTM summer issue. I’ve even been inspired to draw a brand new pic of Camili-Cat for this issues’ cover. Ah, Cam… how we’d all love to join you in your sexy blue Speedo and play with your BIG squirt gun on that beautiful beach. LOL! So what other goodies has the Summer brought? Well, I am pleased to tell you that the amazing Jezza Smilez, proud owner and operator of the fabulous JEZZ LOADS Blog has done a very fun interview with me. Jezza’s such a sweetheart. He didn’t want to cut any of my answers, so he decided to post the ENTIRE interview in 3 separate parts. Part 1 is currently up! Honestly my favorite part of all of this are the GORGEOUS works of art Jezza created to accompany the interview. He’s posted the first couple, including his own version of Naked Justice. Seems Jezza and I also share our absolute love of Storm, and he’s just posted his own wonderful take on Ororo as well. SUPERB stuff… so head on over to JEZZ LOADS and check it all out. He asked some really cool questions, and he has a ton of other cool interviews with some other artists of male erotic art. Definitely worth having a peek!

While to many people Summer means things like vacations, the San Diego Comic Con, barbecues etc., for Fraser and I it tends to mean a shitload of work! HA! HA! HA! But GOOD work, nevertheless. I’ve mentioned before that this summer is gonna be a HUGE one for Class Comics, and I wasn’t kidding! We’ve got a massive and wicked line up of books coming your way. We kicked things off with the gorgeous ANGELFACE #2, which was officially released last week. This is a STUNNING book, written and illustrated by the incomperable Benoît Prévot. If you haven’t picked this gem up, here’s where you can do so!

Class Comics offers Angelface #2 and The brand new Class Comics Universe Heroes Trading Cards as a start to the summer.

Also released last week are the brand new CLASS COMICS UNIVERSE HEROES trading cards. If you enjoyed the Bottom Deck cards from a couple of years back, you’re gonna love these. Speaking of all things Class Comics, today I want to show you the OFFICIAL ZAHN #2 COVER! Even the hunky Son of Winter is in the mood for a hot summer. I am so pleased with this cover. It’s such a nice contrast to the icy mountain setting of the cover to Zahn #1. But lemme just say that this cover was a BITCH to ink! LOL! Still, in the end it was SOOOO worth it. I am really happy with all the jungle vegetation and Golden Key’s colors really bring out all of that fragrance in the image. Zahn #2 is coming soon, so stay tooned. I’ll be sure and keep you posted on release dates etc…!

What would summer be without plenty of HOT HOT HOT Boytoons, huh? A fantastic place to get yourself a monthly serving of HAWT toon cock is Studio Rai29. WHY? The Summer also means a large bounty of cool action films at the cinema. Fraser and I took in “Predators” this past Friday, in a desperate attempt to escape a bit of the heat. Now, I have ALWAYS stood by the Predator films –especially AVP (Alien VS Predator), which I still maintain is an excellent little flick, despite the skewering it received at the hands of the nasty critics. “Predators” was pretty good – not fantastic – but certainly entertaining! Still, I hope someday that I will learn my lesson and stop hoping for actual Predator character development! Silly me! it will NEVER come at this rate! All in all, it was good fun… and mercifully the cinema was air conditioned.

Lastly, Summer means great music, and this creator of gay male erotic comics is heading out to pick up Kylie Minogue’s latest album Aphrodite as soon as I finish posting this issue. I’ve read nothing by great reviews about the album, and Erik from the terrific Roids and Rants Blog has given it two enthusiastic thumbs up – and I find that man has impeccable musical taste!

Hello dear friends…

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

It’s Sunday evening, and as I look forward to another fabulous episode of True Blood (TEE! HEE! HEE!) and the debut of The Gates (I hope this is good!) with the wonderful Rhona Mitra, I thought I would bring you another sneak peek, though small, at Zahn #2.

In it, Zahn meets Zijnayu the seer, who rises from his home in the middle of a hot spring. You see, Zahn wants answers! He wants to know what his deal is, and he figures that this bizarre seer dude can help provide them.

Suffice it to say that this panel is at the start of a 2-page spread in which Zahn communes with Zijnayu. Oy! The Son of Winter is gonna be sore in the morning! LOL!

In any case, I just wanted to thank you all for tooning in this week as I posted 7 days-worth of male cartoon raunchiness. It was a blast! These “A Post A Day” events always are. And though I won’t be posting another 7 days in a row quite right away, I will have more sexy goodies coming your way real soon!

Felinoids #3 “Faux” action figures – A Post A Day – Day 6

Hello my friends.

If you’ve read Camili-Cat: Felinoids #3, then you’ve seen my “faux” action figures packages in the book, or perhaps on the official Felinoids mini site. I was inspired to create them by the beautiful new Star Wars action figure packaging. However, in Felinoids #3, they’re actually printed quite small. Recently I received a few requests by fans to show them off a bit more, and hopefully a little bit more clearly than they appear in the book.

So here you are! :o). A post that is perhaps much ado about very little, except that I always like to oblige my fans whenever I can… and that I had a buttload of fun creating these silly little action figures and their packages.

It’s no secret: I am a HUGE action figure fan, and one of my fondest dreams is to someday see some of my boys become plastic toys. But in the meantime, these little dudes will have to suffice. LOL!
