BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #102 – Logan’s HUGE web update + Special Sneak Peek at Deimos #1.

The old adage is SO very true – good things come to those who wait. I say this in regards to the fantastic first issue of Deimos #1, which was beautifully illustrated by none other than the amazing Logan.

You just can’t rush beauty, and I knew full well when I approached Logan that he was a busy man. Let’s face it, he is one of the most prolific artists I’ve ever known. All that to say that I knew Deimos would take some time, and that was fine by me because I knew the result would be nothing short of brilliant.

I was right!

I’m so pleased to announce that Deimos #1 is now featured in the Diamond Adult Previews December 2007 catalog, and slated for Feb/March 2008 release (check out our full page ad!!). It will accompany the equally wonderful, and highly anticipated Rainbow Country #2 by the very talented Max’.

Today I’m happy to offer you all a very special sneak peek at Deimos #1 and at Logan’s masterful art on the project. I wrote the script back in 2005, shortly after completing Deimos#0, and knew immediately that it would set a very dark and menacing tone for the series. Logan’s art works so well because he has the ability to reach into the script and pull from it all the dark nuances that this comic required.

Another aspect I love about Logan’s work on this book is that he truly made the characters his own. That was very important to me. Deimos is perhaps gruffer by Logan’s hand, and less angular. I also love the way he depicts Cardinal, who is a HUGE part of this story. He makes him twinky and yet very masculine all at once. Always a great combo! Also, Logan’s Bob does NOT disappoint!

Of Deimos #1, Logan says “Sometimes, making a comic book can be painful, sometimes you wonder if you’re good enough to render what exactly your writer had in mind when he wrote the script… Deimos is one the hardest comics I had to work on. But finally it’s the one I’m the most proud of. Because of the mighty talent of Patrick Fillion who filled each and every description in the script with darkness, danger and sex!! And because Deimos is definitely one of the sexiest characters in gay comic book history!”

I’m blushing over all of that… especially that “mighty talent of…” remark! HA! HA! HA!

French readers, rejoice! Deimos #1, the French language edition will be released simultaneously by fine French publishers, H&O Editions.

So the wait is almost over, and die-hard Deimos fans will at last see the promise of a full first issue come to life… but whilst we wait, I encourage you to check out Logan’s website. He recently made some really wicked updates, which of course means a ton of hot toon cock for your greedy little eyes to gobble up.

And those of you who can’t wait to see what everyone’s favorite white trash bottom whore, Porky is up to, stop by Logan’s BLOG for a look at his story boards for Porky #3. You won’t be disappointed. Be warned though – the entry contains MAJOR plot Spoilers!

Let me just take a moment to extend a great big “THANK YOU” to my pal Logan for all of his fantastic work and dedication to Deimos #1. You’re the best my friend and I love ya to bits!

Enjoy the preview folks, and don’t forget to visit Logan’s home on the web for more boner poppin’ Boytoons!

  1. ACH! The Class Comics shop is closed! Will it be opening soon?!

And, of course, I’m looking forward to these two new comics. YAY!

  2. WOW! Logan is such a perfect match for Demios. His gritty bears and musclemen are going to make great adversaries (fuck-buddies) for my favorite purple demon. I can’t wait to get my hot lil’ hands on the book! (And the new Porky too– for that matter.)

Oh and nice rendering on Piotr, dude! You’re right, ining that looks like a real chore– but I’m sure you’ll rock it! Work that mighty talent, bro!
    ^___^

  3. Beautifully Rendered, Patrick—your choice with Logan is spot on! I too, am looking forward to the release of this new series….hungrily. ;)

  4. Although Logan’s art is beautiful in its own way and reflects the impending darkness of the plot in Deimos, I’m saddened that the great variety of men, from twinks to superhunks, in Patrick’s art seem to be missing, not to mention I’m just not exactly turned on by big bears. I was really excited for Deimos #1 but now I’m not sure I’m going to pick it up.

  5. I can’t get enough of Logan’s bears! Meaty muscles as far as the eye can see…I hope Deimos splits thier ass’s in half with his heavenly monster-cock.

Well, as with my views on Space Cadet I feel that my comment won’t please a lot of people but I feel the need to say it. I don’t like the look of this, and it saddens me to say it.

I much prefer the PF Deimos to Logan’s – that’s not a criticism of any skill or drawing talent, but it’s just not a style to my taste – I truly respect Logan’s abilities. Yet, to me, there’s more to making a hunk sexy than over-exaggerating musculature and penis size; I just can’t relate to Logan’s monstrously-proportioned men. But I am totally aware that a lot of people will be very happy with this publication so I do wish all the success in the world for Class Comics sake!! I do truly love the character of ‘Deimos’ but I guess Logan’s artwork isn’t faithful to my own perception of him – does that make sense? And not sound too rude??

    Don’t hate me!

    Wabbit xx

  7. I love musclebears and am excited about Logan’s Demios. I like the variety Class Comics produces and think it would be nice to see something that doesn’t have the ‘token twink’ appear – mind you, I’m not criticizing Class Comics, but gay-themed things in general.

It seems some will be put off and will not buy this comic, but I think this could quickly become one of my favs.

And I’m so happy to see that the Class Comics shop is up again.

I love Logans work so much, it so juicy. Can’t wait to see th comic, Logan does his bears so much justice, and since deimos is kind of a bear himself its a perfect blend.

One thing I notice though, which is a defining difference between yours and logan styles, is that his characters have smooth underarms, well your guys are thick and bushing under there. Its a great quality which shows indivigual tastes.

  9. I must confess that I’m always trepidatious whenever Patrick decides to bring in a new artist to work on one of HIS titles — even an established guy like Logan. I love Patrick’s artwork so much that I always doubt that anyone else will ever suffice. But JC is correct in judging Logan’s gritty sensibility as a surprisingly good match for the hard-edged “Deimos” universe. Once again, Patrick, you’ve struck gold. :-)

  10. deimos will be great! I’m sure about it! I don’t really understant the point of view of white rabbit.that’s in the comic’s tradition to have exagerations.I’m fan of patrick and logan’s both arts and fun and pleasure is the only thing I’m seeking by reading comics.don-t you?
