BOYTOONS MAGAZINE #40 – Max’s Rainbow Country!

As most of you know by now, Class Comics has begun to branch out, publishing titles created completely by other artists. Our first stab at this came in the shape of 2 titles written and illustrated by France-based artist, Logan. Enter Porky and the Pornomicon.

My dream is that someday, Class Comics will be known as the “Gay Marvel Comics”, and of course in order to achieve this goal, it is important to be on the lookout for other creative people and to branch out even further with the titles we publish.

This is why I couldn’t be more proud to give you guys this very exclusive first sneak peek at a new title that Class Comics will be releasing in 2006: Rainbow Country!

Rainbow Country was created by the amazingly gifted Paris-based artist, Max. Issue #1 of the series introduces us to Phillipe, a sexy biker-stud (and also today’s sexy Boytoons Magazine cover stud!) who decides to move to Rainbow Country, a city that is populated by nothing but gay folks like you and me! Upon arriving in Rainbow Country, Phillipe finds himself befriending Marc, his hot neighbor who is wrapped up in a less than healthy relationship.

The fun only just begins when we meet these two hunky Boytoons, and the sex is always raunchy and supremely hot…not to mention beautifully illustrated by Max.

Originally created in French, Rainbow Country was released in 2004 by the good folks at H&O Editions and was an immediate success. It was a huge hit for them because the men are men and the sex is SUPER HOT! This title is about regular guys who are out to cruise and get as much action as they can. And still, they are truly well rounded characters who will endear themselves to your heart before you’ve finished reading the first issue.

Of course, Rainbow Country is not the only work that Max has done. You have but to check out his wicked website to see his massive collection of sensuous men, some of which have even combined erotica with electronica… you’ll just have to visit to see what I mean! Suffice it to say it is a very potent combination.

Rainbow Country#1 is currently in production here at Class Comics, and I am knee deep in the translation of the original French text into the English language. Look for issue #1 of the series to be released alongside Rapture #2 in Fall 2006.

In the meantime, I hope you will all enjoy this little sneak peek at the cover of issue #1 and some of the art from the book. And don’t forget to check out Max’s website for some more of this great artists’ really hot, hard studs!

  1. Definitely looks interesting, Max has a nice style, and while I thought Logan was excellent from a technical standpoint, Max’s aestetic seems more my taste, I can’t wait to see it.

  2. Hey Patrick!

Max is very good. I really like your eye on the artists that you choos to do a posting on and who you put under your umbrealla.

Rainbow Country – well you couldn’t get more gayer than that could you??

He has a kind of realistic approaach from what I can see in these snippets, it’s almost like a movie board for a movie, it is interesting to look at. I’m looking forward to having a perve on his website, I imagine it would be a lot of fun. Again Mr Fillion, your eye for great and upcoming talent have served you well.

BTW – Kate Mulgrew won’t be coming to Sydney next year for the Star Trek Convention (Manny’s having a temper tanty!!) she is doing the Kathryn Hepburm play [Tea at Five] for a few more weeks in California, then taking it to London for approx 3 months, after that she will be playing Cleopatra in New York along side Patrick Stewart next year!

    Big Hugz!

  3. BTW – Patrick,

What date is your Birthday? Mine is on Aug 21, I’ll be hitting the big 37!

Oh, I feel the cold spectre of death creeping into my bones! Everywhere I look is deeeeeaath!

    I gotta stop watching cartoons!

We’re relatively ignorant about gay artists, but you’re helping us to get un-ignorant. Definitely appreciated. Nice stuff! Thanks.

  5. Hey there Charvolth, Manny, Damian and Trent…

Great to hear from you guys! Oh my God… I suddenly feel like I could use a whole other week off just to recuperate from my week of getting caught up after my time off! LOL!!! Clearly I underestimated what I’d have to do when I got back…but I take that as a good thing. I guess that being busy must mean that I am doing something right! HA! HA! HA!

Meanwhile, I am so pleased to see that you boys are looking forward to Rainbow Country and that you enjoyed discovering a little of Max’s work. His style is really very cool and quite unique, and the first issue of his series is really verrrrry hot. I can’t wait to have it out there! I have to be patient though! Still have a good deal of prep and production to do for it before it is ready. All things in good time I guess!

Charvolth, I am glad to hear that you think that Max’s book is up your alley. True, Logan’s work is pretty extreme and he does focus on the bear types…which I think makes his work super hot! Meanwhile, Max has a very cool approach to the muscle stud and draws them exceptionally well.

Manny, thanks for the Kate Mulgrew update. Pity she won’t be in attendance at any Trek con near you any time soon…but I am so happy for her that she is having a fabulous career after Voyager. She truly deserves it! Gosh I adore that woman! :o) And I am CONVINCED she will make a FANTASTIC Queen of the Nile! LOL!!!!

Ah yes, and you wanted to know when my B-day was…the 26th of August! Sounds like we are just a few days apart! ;)

Damian and Trent… I am so glad you guys are enjoying discovering new artists through my Blog. It is sooooo cool to read that you guys are getting a chance to see new homo-erotic stuff through the sites I recommend! Makes me feel really great about doing Boytoons Magazine!

Much love to you all, dear friends!
    Patrick XOXO

  6. Hey Patrick!

WOW! That close, I had no idea!!

Here’s a tip to make your B-day last longer. Start your celebrations the day before as it will be Aug 26 in Sydney on your Aug 25, that way not only do you have an extended celebration but you age 1 year in 2 days from partying to hard LOL

Now, after I have done the calculations of your age in dog years you are ………. Hmmm too old to mention on here *wink* As for my age in dog years all I have to say is “YIKES!!!”
